In the mid 1990s, Shaun had joined the Procurement Senior Leadership Team at Heathrow Airport. The public enquiry to provide consent to build a fifth terminal was in full force. Shaun was challenged to buy locally despite the “closer to fewer” policy operated at the time by parent company BAA PLC. The solution and results make for interesting learning.
