Kaustubh brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role,
with a background in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering
and a certification as a Green Building Assessor. His 20+ years of
experience span across Circular Economy, Carbon Footprint
Mapping, Water Stewardship, Sustainable Supply Chain
Management, and EHS Management Systems. He is NEBOSH
certified, an accredited safety professional, and an alumnus of the
Swedish Institute, Sweden.
He is currently responsible for driving sustainability & innovation
programs across the Indian cement and concrete industry and
working towards decarbonization of the Cement and its value
chain.
He has worked on the development of Integrated reports, Business Responsibility and
Sustainability Reporting (BRSR), development and implementation of the Sustainability
Roadmap, EHS practices at campuses and project sites, CSR projects (water and sanitation),
advocacy with Pollution Control Boards (PCBs), etc.
Key achievements:
• Releasing Decarbonization Roadmap for the Indian Cement sector – Net Zero CO2 by 2070
• Establishment of GCCA – India operations, with 80% of Indian cement capacity joining the
GCCA India program
• Releasing the report on Blended Cement – Green, Durable & Sustainable
• Developing water positivity protocol & framework for the Cement sector
• Achieving Water Positive status for all 24 campuses of Larsen & Toubro
• Making L&T’s two large Campuses carbon-neutral
• Development of a Code of Conduct for suppliers’ Environmental & social risk management
framework
• Development of zero accident vision
Kaustubh has worked as a technical consultant for the United Nations Environment Program
(UNEP), a mission to Vietnam, where he led a project for the Sugar Industry. He holds a
university rank (M. Tech – Gold Medal, in Environmental Engineering). His other areas of
interest are marathons and cricket.
